HISTORY
Our first recognition came from the legendary barbecue critic,
Paul Harless, from the Lexington Collection, known as Pit
Stops Along the Barbecue Highway. He wrote, “It’s durn
near impossible to find decent barbecue in the state of
Virginia, until now.” He described it as “a wood burning beacon
of hope” and described our barbecue as a “whole hog version of
pulled pork that is moist, tender and smoked to near
perfection.”
Our history includes being the top ranked barbecue in Donovan
Kelley’s heralded documentation, The Quest for the Holy
Grill. Additionally, The Washington Post Magazine
wrote “Walk in and the place looks like the real thing.”
It looks like it, because it is the real thing. Ultimately, the
Washington Post referred to Absolute BBQ’s pit
master as “one of the Deep South’s barbecue kings.”
The king is back to reclaim his crown. Absolutely. |
